Red-breasted geese tour

Red-breasted geese

A long weekend tour focused on Red-breasted geese wintering in Bulgaria’s northern Black sea coast. Bulgarian winters are relatively mild, which makes it perfect place for a number of birds to spend the winter here. Every year in January and February almost the whole population of Red-breasted geese fly to the wheat fields around Durankulak, near the Romanian border to find a safe place to feed and rest in the cold months. Other highlights of the tour are – White-tailed and Great spotted eagle, Rough-legged buzzard and Hen harrier, Goshawk, Merlin, Black-throated and Red-throated divers, Pallas’s gull, Lesser white-fronted geese.
